(1) Himno de Asaf.
1 1 (2) Dios mío, Dios mío,
no guardes silencio;
no te quedes callado
y sin hacer nada.
2 2 (3) ¡Fíjate en tus enemigos:
mira cómo se alborotan!
¡Fíjate en los que no te quieren:
mira cómo te desafían!
3 3 (4) Hacen planes contra tu pueblo amado,
con intenciones de hacerle daño,
4 4 (5) y hasta se atreven a decir:
«¡Vamos a destruirlos por completo!
¡Jamás volverá a mencionarse
el nombre de Israel!»
5-8 5-8 (6-9) Los ejércitos de muchos pueblos
se han puesto de acuerdo
para hacerte la guerra:
se han juntado Edom, Moab,
Asiria y las tribus del desierto;
a ellos se han unido
los ejércitos de Guebal,
Amón, Amalec, Tiro y Filistea.
9 9 (10) ¡Acaba con ellos,
como acabaste con Madián!
¡Acaba con ellos,
como acabaste con Sísara y Jabín
a orillas del río Quisón!
10 10 (11) Ellos fueron derrotados en Endor,
y quedaron tendidos en el suelo,
tirados como el estiércol.
11 11 (12) ¡Acaba con su gente de importancia,
como acabaste con Oreb y con Zeeb!
¡Acaba con todos sus jefes,
como acabaste con Zalmuná y Zébah,
12 12 (13) que pensaban adueñarse
de nuestras valiosas tierras!
13 13 (14) Dios mío,
haz que el viento se los lleve
como se lleva a la paja.
14-15 14-15 (15-16) ¡Persíguelos con tus tormentas!
¡Espántalos con tus tempestades!
¡Sé como las llamas de fuego
que acaban con cerros y bosques!
16 16 (17) Dios mío,
¡llénalos de vergüenza,
para que te reconozcan como Dios!
17 17 (18) ¡Derrótalos para siempre!
¡Derrótalos y acaba con ellos!
18 18 (19) ¡Así conocerán tu poder,
y sabrán que solo tú
gobiernas sobre toda la tierra!
A Song or Psalm of Asaph.
1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
