1 1 (2) Nuestro Dios y nuestro rey,
¡qué grande eres
en toda la tierra!
¡Tu grandeza está por encima
de los cielos más altos!
2 2 (3) Con las primeras palabras
de los niños más pequeños,
y con los cantos
de los niños mayores
has construido una fortaleza
por causa de tus enemigos.
¡Así has hecho callar
a tus enemigos que buscan venganza!
3 3 (4) Cuando contemplo el cielo,
y la luna y las estrellas
que tú mismo hiciste,
4 4 (5) no puedo menos que pensar:
«¿Qué somos los mortales
para que pienses en nosotros
y nos tomes en cuenta?»
5 5 (6) ¡Nos creaste casi igual a ti!
Nos trataste como a reyes;
6 6 (7) nos diste plena autoridad
sobre todo lo que hiciste;
nos diste dominio
sobre toda tu creación:
7 7 (8) sobre ovejas y vacas,
sobre animales salvajes,
8 8 (9) sobre aves y peces,
¡sobre todo lo que se mueve
en lo profundo del mar!

1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
