Jesús sana a un hombre
(Mc 1.40-45Lc 5.12-16)1 Después de que Jesús bajó de la montaña, mucha gente lo siguió. 2 De pronto, un hombre que tenía lepra se acercó a Jesús, se arrodilló delante de él y le dijo:
—Señor, yo sé que tú puedes sanarme. ¿Quieres hacerlo?
3 Jesús puso la mano sobre él y le contestó:
—¡Quiero hacerlo! ¡Ya estás sano!
Y el hombre quedó sano de inmediato. 4 Después, Jesús le dijo:
—¡Escucha bien esto! No le digas a nadie lo que sucedió. Vete a donde está el sacerdote, y lleva la ofrenda que Moisés ordenó. Así los sacerdotes serán testigos de que ya no tienes esa enfermedad.
Un capitán romano
(Lc 7.1-10Jn 4.43-54)5 En cierta ocasión, Jesús fue al pueblo de Cafarnaúm. Allí, se le acercó un capitán del ejército romano 6 y le dijo:
—Señor Jesús, mi sirviente está enfermo en casa. Tiene fuertes dolores y no puede moverse.
7 Entonces Jesús le dijo:
—Iré a sanarlo.
8 Pero el capitán respondió:
—Señor Jesús, yo no merezco que entre usted en mi casa. Basta con que ordene desde aquí que mi sirviente se sane y él quedará sano. 9 Porque yo sé lo que es dar órdenes y lo que es obedecer. Si yo le ordeno a uno de mis soldados que vaya a algún sitio, ese soldado va. Si a otro le ordeno que venga, él viene; y si mando a mi sirviente que haga algo, lo hace.
10 Jesús se quedó admirado al escuchar la respuesta del capitán. Entonces le dijo a la gente que lo seguía:
—¡Les aseguro que, en todo Israel, nunca había conocido a alguien que confiara tanto en mí como este extranjero! 11 Oigan bien esto: De todas partes del mundo vendrá gente que confía en Dios como confía este hombre. Esa gente participará en la gran cena que Dios dará en su reino. Se sentará a la mesa con sus antepasados Abraham, Isaac y Jacob. 12 Pero los que habían sido invitados primero a participar en el reino de Dios, serán echados fuera, a la oscuridad. Allí llorarán de dolor y les rechinarán de terror los dientes.
13 Luego Jesús le dijo al capitán:
—Regresa a tu casa, y que todo suceda tal como has creído.
En ese mismo instante, su sirviente quedó sano.
Jesús sana a mucha gente
(Mc 1.29-34Lc 4.38-41)14 Jesús fue a casa de Pedro y encontró a la suegra de este en cama, con mucha fiebre. 15 Jesús la tocó en la mano y la fiebre se le quitó. Entonces ella se levantó y le dio de comer a Jesús.
16 Al anochecer, la gente llevó a muchas personas que tenían demonios. Jesús echó a los demonios con una sola palabra, y también sanó a todos los enfermos que estaban allí.
17 Así, Dios cumplió su promesa, tal como lo había anunciado el profeta Isaías en su libro: «Él nos sanó de nuestras enfermedades».
Los que querían seguir a Jesús
(Lc 9.57-62)18 Jesús vio que mucha gente lo rodeaba. Por eso, ordenó a sus discípulos que lo acompañaran al otro lado del Lago de Galilea. 19 Cuando llegaron allá, un maestro de la Ley se le acercó y le dijo:
—Maestro, yo te acompañaré a dondequiera que vayas.
20 Jesús le contestó:
—Las zorras tienen cuevas y las aves tienen nidos, pero yo, el Hijo del hombre, no tengo un lugar donde descansar.
21 Otro de sus discípulos le dijo después:
—Señor, dame permiso para ir primero a enterrar a mi padre; luego te seguiré.
22 Jesús le contestó:
—¡Deja que los muertos entierren a sus muertos! ¡Tú, sígueme!
La gran tormenta
(Mc 4.35-41Lc 8.22-25)23 Jesús subió a la barca y se fue con sus discípulos. 24 Todavía estaban navegando cuando se desató una tormenta tan fuerte que las olas se metían en la barca. Mientras tanto, Jesús dormía. 25 Entonces sus discípulos fueron a despertarlo:
—¡Señor Jesús, sálvanos, porque nos hundimos!
26 Jesús les dijo:
—¿Por qué están tan asustados? ¡Qué poco confían ustedes en Dios!
Jesús se levantó y les ordenó al viento y a las olas que se calmaran, y todo quedó muy tranquilo. 27 Los discípulos preguntaban asombrados:
—¿Quién será este hombre, que hasta el viento y las olas lo obedecen?
Dos hombres con muchos demonios
(Mc 5.1-20Lc 8.26-39)28 Cuando Jesús llegó a la región de Gadara, que está a la otra orilla del lago, dos hombres que tenían demonios salieron de entre las tumbas. Eran tan peligrosos que nadie podía pasar por ese camino. Cuando los dos hombres se acercaron a Jesús, 29 los demonios gritaron:
—¡Jesús, Hijo de Dios!, ¿qué vas a hacernos? ¿Vas a castigarnos antes del juicio final?
30 No muy lejos de allí había muchos cerdos, y 31 los demonios le suplicaron a Jesús:
—Si nos sacas de estos hombres, déjanos entrar en esos cerdos.
32 Jesús les dijo:
—Entren en ellos.
Los demonios salieron de los dos hombres y entraron en los cerdos. Entonces todos los cerdos corrieron sin parar, hasta que cayeron en el lago, donde se ahogaron.
33 Los hombres que cuidaban los cerdos huyeron al pueblo. Allí contaron lo que había pasado con los cerdos y con los dos hombres que habían tenido demonios. 34 La gente del pueblo fue a ver a Jesús, y le rogaron que se marchara de aquella región.
1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
5 ¶ And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man , Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it . 10 When Jesus heard it , he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. 11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
14 ¶ And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
16 ¶ When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
18 ¶ Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side. 19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. 21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. 22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
23 ¶ And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. 24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to him , and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
28 ¶ And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? 30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. 31 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. 32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. 33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. 34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
