Azarías, rey de Judá
(2 Cr 26.3-52 16-23)1-2 Azarías hijo de Amasías comenzó a reinar a los dieciséis años en Judá, cuando Jeroboam ya tenía veintisiete años de gobernar en Israel. La capital de su reino fue Jerusalén, y su reinado duró cincuenta y dos años. Su madre, que era de esa ciudad, se llamaba Jecolías.
3 Azarías obedeció a Dios en todo, al igual que lo hizo su padre Amasías. 4 Sin embargo, no quitó los pequeños templos de las colinas, en los que la gente seguía ofreciendo sacrificios y quemando incienso a los dioses. 5 Por eso Dios castigó a Azarías haciendo que se enfermara de lepra, y eso lo obligó a vivir, hasta el día de su muerte, en un lugar aparte dentro del palacio. Su hijo Jotam se encargó de gobernar al pueblo.
6 Todo lo que hizo Azarías está escrito en el libro de la historia de los reyes de Judá. 7 Cuando murió, lo enterraron en la Ciudad de David, en la tumba de sus antepasados. Su hijo Jotam reinó en su lugar.
Zacarías, rey de Israel
8 Zacarías hijo de Jeroboam comenzó a reinar en Israel cuando Azarías tenía ya treinta y ocho años de gobernar en Judá. La capital de su reino fue Samaria, y su reinado solo duró seis meses. 9 Zacarías no obedeció a Dios, tal y como lo habían hecho sus antepasados, pues no dejó de cometer los mismos pecados con los que Jeroboam hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
10 Salum hijo de Jabés se puso en contra de Zacarías y lo atacó en Ibleam, donde lo mató, y luego reinó en su lugar.
11 Todo lo que hizo Zacarías está escrito en el libro de la historia de los reyes de Israel. 12 Así se cumplió lo que Dios le había prometido a Jehú: «Tus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos reinarán en Israel».
Salum, rey de Israel
13 Salum hijo de Jabés comenzó a reinar cuando Ozías tenía ya treinta y nueve años de gobernar en Judá. La capital de su reino fue Samaria, y su reinado duró solo un mes, 14 pues Menahem hijo de Gadí vino desde Tirsá, atacó a Salum, y lo mató. Así fue como Menahem se convirtió en rey de Israel.
15 Todo lo que hizo Salum, y su rebelión en contra de Zacarías, está escrito en el libro de la historia de los reyes de Israel.
Menahem, rey de Israel
16 En ese tiempo Menahem atacó a la ciudad de Tífsah, y desde Tirsá se apoderó de todo lo que había en ella y sus alrededores. También mató a todos sus habitantes, incluyendo a las mujeres embarazadas, porque no quisieron que fuera su rey. 17 Menahem hijo de Gadí comenzó a reinar sobre Israel cuando Azarías tenía ya treinta y nueve años de gobernar en Judá. La capital de su reino fue Samaria, y su reinado duró diez años. 18 Menahem no obedeció a Dios, pues nunca dejó de cometer los mismos pecados con los que Jeroboam hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
19 En ese tiempo Tiglat-piléser, rey de Asiria, invadió el país. Entonces Menahem le regaló treinta y tres mil kilos de plata para que lo dejara mantener el control de Israel. 20 Para conseguir la plata, Menahem obligó a todos los ricos a pagar un impuesto de más de medio kilo de plata cada uno. Entonces Tiglat-piléser se regresó a su país.
21 Todo lo que hizo Menahem está escrito en el libro de la historia de los reyes de Israel. 22 Cuando murió, su hijo Pecahías reinó en su lugar.
Pecahías, rey de Israel
23 Pecahías hijo de Menahem comenzó a reinar sobre Israel cuando Azarías tenía ya cincuenta años de gobernar en Judá. La capital de su reino fue Samaria, y su reinado duró dos años. 24 Pecahías desobedeció a Dios, pues nunca dejó de cometer los mismos pecados con los que Jeroboam hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
25 Uno de los jefes del ejército, llamado Pécah hijo de Remalías, se puso en contra de Pecahías. Con la ayuda de cincuenta hombres de Galaad, fue al palacio y allí mató a Pecahías y también a dos hombres más llamados Argob y Arie. Así fue como Pécah se convirtió en rey de Israel.

Pécah, rey de Israel
27 Pécah hijo de Remalías comenzó a reinar en Israel cuando Azarías tenía ya cincuenta y dos años de gobernar en Judá. La capital de su reino fue Samaria, y su reinado duró veinte años. 28 Pécah no obedeció a Dios, pues no dejó de cometer los mismos pecados con los que Jeroboam hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
29 En ese tiempo llegó Tiglat-piléser, y conquistó las ciudades de Iión, Abel-bet-maacá, Janóah, Quedes, Hasor, Galaad, Galilea y toda la región de Neftalí. A los habitantes de esos lugares se los llevó prisioneros.
30 Entonces Oseas hijo de Elá se puso en contra de Pécah, y lo mató. Así fue como Oseas se convirtió en rey de Israel cuando Jotam hijo de Ozías tenía ya veinte años de gobernar en Judá.
31 Todo lo que hizo Pécah está escrito en el libro de la historia de los reyes de Israel.
Jotam, rey de Judá
(2 Cr 27.1-9)32-33 Jotam hijo de Ozías comenzó a reinar en Judá a los veinticinco años, cuando Pécah tenía ya dos años de gobernar en Israel. La capital de su reino fue Jerusalén, y su reinado duró dieciséis años. Su madre se llamaba Jerusá hija de Sadoc.
34 Jotam obedeció a Dios, tal y como lo había hecho su padre Ozías. 35 Jotam construyó el portón superior del templo de Dios, sin embargo, no quitó los pequeños templos de las colinas, en los que la gente seguía ofreciendo sacrificios y quemando incienso a los dioses.
36 Todo lo que hizo Jotam está escrito en el libro de la historia de los reyes de Judá.
37 Por ese tiempo, Dios comenzó a enviar a Resín, rey de Siria, y a Pécah, rey de Israel, a luchar contra Judá.
38 Cuando Jotam murió, lo enterraron en la Ciudad de David, en la tumba de sus antepasados. Su hijo Ahaz reinó en su lugar.
1 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign. 2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem. 3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done; 4 Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.
5 ¶ And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land. 6 And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
8 ¶ In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months. 9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead. 11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. 12 This was the word of the LORD which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation . And so it came to pass.
13 ¶ Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria. 14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead. 15 And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
16 ¶ Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him , therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up. 17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria. 18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand. 20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
21 ¶ And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
23 ¶ In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years. 24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 25 But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room. 26 And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
27 ¶ In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years. 28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria. 30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. 31 And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
32 ¶ In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign. 33 Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok. 34 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
35 ¶ Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.
36 ¶ Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 37 In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah. 38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
