(1) Himno de Asaf.
Instrucciones para el director del coro: Este himno deberá cantarse con la melodía «No destruyas».
1 1 (2) ¡Gracias, nuestro Dios!
Hablamos de tus maravillas,
pues estás cerca de nosotros.
2 2 (3) Tú has dicho:
«Ya he puesto la fecha
cuando voy a hacer justicia.
3 3 (4) Podrá temblar la tierra
con todos sus habitantes,
pero yo mantendré firmes sus bases.
4 4 (5) A los orgullosos les mando
que no se crean tan importantes;
a los malvados les ordeno
que no sean orgullosos,
5 5 (6) que no presuman de su poder
ni se sientan superiores».
6 6 (7) Los elogios no vienen del este,
ni del oeste ni del sur;
7 7 (8) vienen de Dios, que es el juez.
A unos les quita el poder,
y a otros se lo da.
8 8 (9) Dios está muy enojado
y está listo para castigar.
Cuando pierda la paciencia,
dará rienda suelta a su enojo
y todos los malvados de la tierra
tendrán su merecido.
9 9 (10) Yo siempre hablaré
del Dios de Israel,
y le cantaré himnos.
10 10 (11) Dios acabará con el poder
de todos los malvados,
pero aumentará el poder de los justos.

1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.
4 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them .
9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
