(1) Himno de Asaf.

1 1 (2) En Judá se conoce a Dios;
en Israel se reconoce su fama.
2 2 (3) En Jerusalén se halla su templo;
allí estableció su residencia.
3 3 (4) Allí Dios hace pedazos
todas las armas de guerra.
4-6 4-6 (5-7) Dios de Israel,
tú eres un Dios maravilloso;
eres más grande
que las montañas eternas.
Todos los hombres de guerra
se quedaron sin sus armas;
cayeron en el campo de batalla.
Ninguno de esos valientes
pudo siquiera defenderse.
Cuando tú los reprendiste,
su poder militar se derrumbó.
7 7 (8) Solo tú inspiras temor.
Cuando tu furia se desata,
no hay quién pueda hacerte frente.
8-9 8-9 (9-10) Cuando tú, Dios mío,
decidiste hacerles justicia
a todos los pobres de la tierra,
dictaste tu sentencia desde el cielo,
y la tierra, temerosa,
prefirió guardar silencio.
10 10 (11) Cuando te enojas,
hasta el hombre más furioso;
se rinde ante ti y te alaba.
11 11 (12) Cumplámosle a nuestro Dios
todas nuestras promesas;
y ustedes, naciones vecinas,
tráiganle ofrendas al Dios admirable;
12 12 (13) él humilla a los gobernantes
y hace que tiemblen de miedo

4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
5 The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.
6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.
11 Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
