SALMO 60 (59)
(1-2) David compuso este himno para que sirviera de enseñanza. Lo compuso cuando luchó contra los arameos que vivían en la región noroeste de Mesopotamia y en la parte central de Siria. En esa ocasión Joab regresó y venció a doce mil edomitas en el Valle de la Sal.
Instrucciones para el director del coro: Este himno deberá cantarse con la melodía «El lirio del pacto».
1 1 (3) Dios mío,
tú te enojaste,
te alejaste de nosotros
y nos destruiste.
¡Ahora vuelve a ayudarnos!
2 2 (4) Sacudiste la tierra,
y se llenó de grietas;
¡sánala, porque se desmorona!
3 3 (5) Nos has dado
pruebas muy duras;
nos has dado a beber un vino
que nos hace tropezar.
4-5 4-5 (6-7) Nosotros te somos fieles:
¡respóndenos!
¡Sálvanos con tu poder!
¡Dinos qué debemos hacer
para escapar de las flechas!
Así este pueblo que amas
quedará a salvo.
6 6 (8) Desde tu templo has declarado:
«Cuando yo triunfe
repartiré entre mi pueblo
las tierras de Siquem
y las del valle de Sucot.
7 7 (9) Las tierras de Galaad son mías;
al norte están las tribus de José
para proteger a mi pueblo,
y en Judá he puesto al rey.
8 8 (10) Los de Moab son mis esclavos,
Edom es mi propiedad,
y en territorio filisteo
lanzo gritos de victoria».
9 9 (11) ¿Quién quiere llevarme
hasta la ciudad con muros?
¿Quién quiere enseñarme
el camino que lleva a Edom?
10 10 (12) ¡Tú, Dios mío,
te has alejado de nosotros
y ya no sales a pelear
al frente de nuestros ejércitos!
11 11 (13) La ayuda humana resulta inútil;
¡ayúdanos a vencer al enemigo!
12 12 (14) Dios nuestro, tú los vencerás;
¡con tu ayuda saldremos victoriosos!
To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand.
1 O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
5 That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.
6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou , O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
