SALMO 105 (104)
1 ¡Demos gracias a nuestro Dios!
¡Demos a conocer entre las naciones
todo lo que él ha hecho!
2 ¡Cantémosle himnos!
¡Demos a conocer sus grandes milagros!
3 ¡Digamos con orgullo
que no hay otro Dios aparte del nuestro!
¡Alegrémonos de corazón
todos los que adoramos a Dios!
4 Acerquémonos a nuestro poderoso Dios,
y procuremos agradarle siempre.
5 Hagamos memoria de las maravillas
que nuestro Dios ha realizado;
recordemos sus milagros
y los mandamientos que nos dio.
6 Somos los descendientes
de Abraham y de Jacob;
somos el pueblo elegido de Dios
y estamos a su servicio;
por lo tanto, ¡escúchenme!
7 Pertenecemos a nuestro Dios;
su palabra llena la tierra.
8 Él no ha olvidado su pacto
ni las promesas que nos hizo.
9 Hizo el pacto con Abraham,
y se lo confirmó a Isaac.
10 Con Israel lo estableció
como un pacto para toda la vida,
11 y le dijo:
«Yo te daré Canaán.
Es la tierra que te ha tocado».
12 Nosotros no éramos muchos;
¡éramos gente sin patria!
13 ¡Todo el tiempo andábamos
de país en país
y de reino en reino!
14 Pero Dios jamás permitió
que nadie nos molestara,
y les advirtió a los reyes:
15 «No se metan con mi pueblo elegido;
no les hagan daño a mis profetas».
16 En Canaán hubo mucha hambre,
pues Dios destruyó todos los trigales.
17 Pero él ya había dispuesto
que nos salvara José,
a quien antes sus hermanos
habían vendido como esclavo.
18 Los egipcios humillaron a José
y lo tuvieron encarcelado,
19 hasta el día en que se cumplió
lo que él ya había anunciado:
¡ese día Dios dejó en claro
que José había dicho la verdad!
20 Entonces el rey de Egipto,
que gobernaba a muchos pueblos,
ordenó que liberaran a José,
y fue puesto en libertad.
21 El rey le dio autoridad
sobre todo su pueblo
y sobre todas sus posesiones.
22 José se dedicó a enseñar
a los consejeros y a los ayudantes del rey,
y a compartir con ellos su sabiduría.
23 Nuestros abuelos fueron a Egipto,
y allí les permitieron vivir.
24 Dios hizo que aumentara
nuestro pueblo,
y lo hizo más fuerte
que sus enemigos.
25 Por eso los egipcios
nos odiaron y maltrataron.
26 Dios envió entonces
a Moisés y a Aarón,
sus ayudantes favoritos,
27 y allí en Egipto
ellos hicieron grandes milagros.
28 Dios envió sobre el país
una gran oscuridad,
pero los egipcios no hicieron caso
de esta señal maravillosa.
29 Dios convirtió en sangre
los ríos de Egipto,
y así mató a sus peces.
30 Todo Egipto se llenó de ranas;
¡había ranas hasta en el palacio!
31 Dios dio una orden,
y todo el país se llenó
de moscas y de mosquitos.
32 En vez de lluvia,
Dios mandó granizo,
y con sus relámpagos
le prendió fuego al país.
33 Por todo Egipto
Dios derribó viñas e higueras;
¡hizo astillas los árboles!
34 A una orden suya,
vino una plaga de saltamontes
35 que acabó con los frutos del campo,
y todo lo verde quedó seco.
36 Dios hirió de muerte
a los mejores jóvenes egipcios;
¡en todo el país murió
el hijo mayor de cada familia!
37 En cambio, a nuestros abuelos
los hizo salir de Egipto
cargados de plata y de oro,
sin que nada se los impidiera.
38 Cuando ellos salieron de Egipto
los egipcios se alegraron,
pues les tenían mucho miedo.
39 A nuestros abuelos
Dios los protegió con una nube,
y de noche los alumbró con fuego.
40 Ellos pidieron comida,
y Dios les envió codornices;
¡calmó su hambre con pan del cielo!
41 Partió una piedra en dos,
y brotó agua como un río
que corrió por el desierto.
42 Dios nunca se olvidó
de la promesa que él mismo
le hizo a Abraham, su servidor.
43 Entre cantos y gritos de alegría
nuestro Dios sacó de Egipto
a su pueblo elegido,
44 para darle como propiedad
las tierras de otros pueblos.
¡Nuestros abuelos se adueñaron
de las tierras cultivadas por otros!
45 Pero Dios les puso como condición
que respetaran y practicaran
sus mandamientos y sus leyes.
¡Alabemos a nuestro Dios!
1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
15 Saying , Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
27 They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
31 He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
33 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
34 He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
36 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
