Los discípulos arrancan espigas de trigo
(Mc 2.23-28Lc 6.1-5)1 Un sábado, Jesús y sus discípulos andaban por un campo sembrado de trigo. Los discípulos tuvieron hambre y comenzaron a arrancar espigas y a comerse el grano.
2 Cuando los fariseos vieron que los discípulos arrancaban trigo, le dijeron a Jesús:
—¡Mira lo que hacen tus discípulos! ¡Está prohibido hacer eso en el día de descanso!
3 Jesús les respondió:
—¿No han leído en la Biblia lo que hizo el rey David cuando él y sus compañeros tuvieron hambre? 4 Entraron en la casa de Dios y comieron el pan sagrado. Ni a David ni a sus compañeros les estaba permitido comer ese pan. Solo los sacerdotes podían comerlo. 5 ¿Tampoco han leído los libros de la ley de Moisés? ¿No saben que los sacerdotes pueden trabajar en el templo en el día de descanso, sin que nadie los acuse de nada? 6 Pues les aseguro que aquí hay algo más importante que el templo. 7 Ustedes no entienden esto que Dios dijo: “No quiero que me sacrifiquen animales, sino que amen y ayuden a los demás”. Si lo entendieran, no estarían acusando a gente inocente. 8 Porque yo, el Hijo del hombre, soy quien decide lo que puede hacerse en el día de descanso, y lo que no puede hacerse.
Jesús sana a un hombre en sábado
(Mc 3.1-6Lc 6.6-11)9 Jesús se fue y entró en la sinagoga del lugar. 10 Allí había un hombre que tenía una mano tullida. Como los fariseos buscaban la manera de acusar de algo malo a Jesús, le preguntaron:
—¿Permite nuestra ley sanar a una persona en el día de descanso?
11 Jesús les respondió:
—Si a uno de ustedes se le cayera una oveja en un pozo en el día de descanso, ¿la sacaría de allí? ¡Por supuesto que sí! 12 ¡Pues una persona vale mucho más que una oveja! Por eso está permitido hacer el bien en el día de descanso.
13 Luego Jesús le dijo al hombre que no podía mover la mano: «Extiende tu mano». El hombre la extendió, y la mano le quedó tan sana como la otra. 14 Entonces los fariseos salieron de la sinagoga y comenzaron a hacer planes para matar a Jesús.
Jesús, servidor de Dios
15 Al enterarse Jesús de lo que planeaban los fariseos, se fue de allí, y mucha gente lo siguió. Jesús sanó a todos los que estaban enfermos 16 y les ordenó que no contaran a nadie nada acerca de él. 17 Así se cumplió lo que Dios había dicho por medio del profeta Isaías:
18 «¡Miren a mi elegido,
al que he llamado a mi servicio!
Yo lo amo mucho,
y él me llena de alegría.
Yo pondré en él mi Espíritu,
y él anunciará mi justicia
entre las naciones.
19 No discutirá con nadie,
ni gritará.
¡Nadie escuchará su voz
en las calles!
20 No les causará más daño
a los que estén heridos,
ni acabará de matar
a los que estén agonizando.
Al contrario, fortalecerá a los débiles
y hará triunfar la justicia.
21 ¡Todas las personas del mundo
confiarán en él!»
Jesús y el jefe de los demonios
(Mc 3.20-30Lc 11.14-23Lc 12.10)22 Unas personas llevaron un hombre a Jesús para que lo sanara. Ese hombre era ciego y mudo porque tenía un demonio. Pero Jesús lo sanó, y el hombre pudo ver y hablar.
23 La gente estaba asombrada de lo que Jesús hacía, y se preguntaba: «¿Será Jesús el Mesías que Dios prometió para salvarnos?»
24 Pero algunos de los fariseos oyeron a la gente y pensaron: «Jesús libera de los demonios a la gente, porque Beelzebú, el jefe de los demonios, le da poder para hacerlo».
25 Jesús se dio cuenta de lo que ellos pensaban, y les dijo:
«Si los habitantes de un país se pelean entre ellos, el país quedará destruido. Si los habitantes de una ciudad se pelean unos contra otros, la ciudad quedará en ruinas. Y si los miembros de una familia se pelean entre ellos mismos, se destruirá la familia. 26 Si Satanás lucha contra él mismo, destruirá su propio reino. 27 Según ustedes, yo expulso los demonios porque Satanás me da ese poder. Si eso es cierto, entonces ¿quién les da poder a los discípulos de ustedes para echar fuera los demonios? Si ustedes me responden que Dios les da ese poder, quedará demostrado que ustedes están equivocados. 28 Y si yo echo fuera los demonios con el poder del Espíritu de Dios, con eso les demuestro que el reino de Dios ya está aquí.
29 »Si alguien quiere robar lo que un hombre fuerte tiene en su casa, primero tiene que atar a ese hombre, y después podrá robarle todo.
30 »El que no está de mi parte, está contra mí. El que no me ayuda a traer a otros para que me sigan, es como si los estuviera ahuyentando.
31-32 »Les aseguro que Dios les perdonará cualquier pecado y todo lo malo que digan. Aun si dicen algo contra mí, que soy el Hijo del hombre, Dios los perdonará. Pero lo que no les perdonará es que hablen mal contra el Espíritu Santo. ¡Eso no lo perdonará, ni ahora ni nunca!
El fruto bueno y el fruto malo
(Lc 6.43-45)33 »Un buen árbol produce buenos frutos, y un mal árbol produce malos frutos. Para saber si un árbol es bueno o malo, solo hay que fijarse en sus frutos. Lo mismo sucede con las personas: para saber si son buenas o malas, solo hay que fijarse en las cosas que hacen. 34-35 Lo que ustedes enseñan es tan malo como el veneno de una serpiente. ¡Claro! ¿Cómo van a decir cosas buenas, si ustedes son malos? Porque si alguien es bueno, siempre dice cosas buenas, y si es malo, siempre dice cosas malas. 36 Les aseguro que en el día del juicio final todos tendrán que explicar por qué hablaron para hacerles daño a los demás. 37 Dios juzgará a cada uno de acuerdo con sus palabras: si dijeron cosas buenas se salvarán, pero si dijeron cosas malas serán castigados.»
Una señal milagrosa
(Mc 8.11-12Lc 11.29-32)38 Entonces algunos fariseos y maestros de la Ley le dijeron a Jesús:
—Maestro, queremos que hagas algo que nos demuestre que tú fuiste enviado por Dios.
39 Pero Jesús les contestó:
—Ustedes, que son malos y no confían en Dios, me piden darles una prueba. Pero la única prueba que les daré será la del profeta Jonás: 40 Así como Jonás estuvo dentro del gran pez tres días y tres noches, así yo también, el Hijo del hombre, estaré dentro de la tumba tres días y tres noches. 41 En el juicio final, la gente de la ciudad de Nínive se levantará y hablará contra ustedes para que Dios los castigue. Porque esa gente sí cambió de vida cuando oyó el mensaje que le anunció Jonás. Pero ustedes oyen mi mensaje y no cambian, aunque yo soy más importante que Jonás.
42 »La reina del Sur también se levantará en el día del juicio, y hablará contra ustedes. Porque ella vino desde muy lejos a escuchar las sabias enseñanzas del rey Salomón. Pero ustedes no quieren escuchar mis enseñanzas, aunque yo soy más importante que Salomón.
El espíritu malo que regresa
(Lc 11.24-26)43 »Cuando un espíritu malo sale de alguien, anda por el desierto buscando donde descansar. 44 Al no encontrar ningún lugar, dice: “Mejor regresaré a mi antigua casa y volveré a vivir en ella”. Cuando regresa, la encuentra desocupada, limpia y ordenada. 45 Entonces va y busca a otros siete espíritus peores que él, y todos ellos entran en aquella persona y se quedan a vivir allí. ¡Y esa pobre persona termina peor que cuando solo tenía un espíritu malo! Esto mismo va a pasarles a ustedes, porque son muy malos.
La madre y los hermanos de Jesús
(Mc 3.31-35Lc 8.19-21)46 Mientras Jesús seguía hablando con la gente, su madre y sus hermanos llegaron a donde él estaba y lo esperaron afuera, pues querían hablar con él. 47 Entonces alguien le dijo a Jesús:
—Tu madre y tus hermanos están afuera, y quieren hablar contigo.
48 Pero él le preguntó:
—¿Quiénes son en verdad mi madre y mis hermanos?
49 Jesús señaló entonces a todos sus discípulos y les dijo:
50 —Estos son mi madre y mis hermanos. Porque cualquiera que obedece los mandamientos de mi Padre que está en el cielo, es en verdad mi madre, mi hermano y mi hermana.
1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. 2 But when the Pharisees saw it , they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. 3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; 4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? 5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? 6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. 7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. 9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
10 ¶ And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
14 ¶ Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. 15 But when Jesus knew it , he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; 16 And charged them that they should not make him known: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. 21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22 ¶ Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. 23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? 24 But when the Pharisees heard it , they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
31 ¶ Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
38 ¶ Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. 43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
46 ¶ While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
