Las primeras ofrendas
1 Al octavo día, Moisés llamó a Aarón y a sus hijos, y a los jefes israelitas. 2 Entonces le dijo a Aarón:
«Presenta un ternero como ofrenda para el perdón de tus pecados, y quema un carnero en honor de nuestro Dios. 3 Después de eso, diles a los israelitas que también presenten un chivo como ofrenda para el perdón de sus pecados, y quemen en honor de nuestro Dios un ternero y un cordero. Estos animales deberán tener un año de edad y no presentar ningún defecto.
4 »Hoy mismo, nuestro Dios les mostrará que es poderoso. Por lo tanto, también deben presentarle un toro y un carnero como ofrendas para pedirle salud y bienestar, y presentar una ofrenda de cereales amasada con aceite».
5 Los israelitas llevaron ante el santuario todo lo que Moisés les ordenó. Todo el pueblo se presentó ante el altar de Dios, y allí se quedó. 6 Entonces Moisés les dijo: «Estas son las órdenes de Dios. Si ustedes las cumplen, Dios les mostrará todo su poder». 7 Luego Moisés le dijo a Aarón: «Acércate al altar y presenta tu ofrenda para el perdón de tus pecados y quema una ofrenda en honor de nuestro Dios. Presenta también la ofrenda del pueblo, para que Dios te perdone a ti y a ellos».
8 Aarón mató el ternero, y lo presentó como ofrenda para el perdón de su propio pecado. 9 Sus hijos le acercaron la sangre del ternero, y Aarón mojó en ella su dedo para untar de sangre las puntas del altar. El resto de la sangre lo derramó sobre la base del altar. 10 Luego quemó sobre el altar la grasa, los riñones y una parte del hígado, tal como Dios se lo había ordenado a Moisés. 11 La carne y el cuero los quemó fuera del campamento.
12-14 Enseguida, Aarón presentó el animal que se quema en honor de Dios. Sus hijos le presentaron el animal cortado ya en pedazos, y Aarón los quemó en el altar, junto con la cabeza. Luego lavó los intestinos y las patas del animal, y también los quemó. Entonces sus hijos le acercaron la sangre, y Aarón la derramó sobre los cuatro costados del altar.
15 Después de eso, Aarón presentó la ofrenda para el perdón del pecado del pueblo. Tomó el chivo de la ofrenda y se lo presentó a Dios, tal como lo hizo con la ofrenda anterior. 16 También quemó la ofrenda en honor de Dios, siguiendo las normas establecidas. 17 De la ofrenda de cereales tomó un puñado y lo quemó sobre el altar, junto con la ofrenda que se quema en la mañana en honor de Dios.
18 Aarón mató además el toro y el carnero que el pueblo ofreció para pedirle a Dios salud y bienestar, y los presentó a Dios. Sus hijos le acercaron la sangre, y Aarón la derramó en los cuatro costados del altar. 19-20 Sobre el altar quemó también las colas, los riñones, una parte del hígado y la grasa que recubre los intestinos del toro y el carnero. 21 Sin embargo, Aarón solamente realizó la ceremonia de ofrecimiento del pecho y la pierna trasera derecha de los dos animales. 22 Para terminar, Aarón extendió los brazos hacia el pueblo y lo bendijo.
Dios muestra su poder ante Israel
Después de presentar las ofrendas, Aarón se apartó del altar 23 y entró en el santuario junto con Moisés. Cuando salieron, los dos bendijeron al pueblo. Todos ellos vieron el poder de Dios, 24 quien envió fuego y quemó por completo todo lo que estaba sobre el altar. Ante esto, todo el pueblo lanzó gritos de alegría y se inclinó hasta tocar el suelo con la frente para adorar a Dios.
1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; 2 And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD. 3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering; 4 Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you.
5 ¶ And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. 6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you. 7 And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded.
8 ¶ Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. 9 And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar: 10 But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses. 11 And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp. 12 And he slew the burnt offering; and Aaron’s sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled round about upon the altar. 13 And they presented the burnt offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar. 14 And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt offering on the altar.
15 ¶ And he brought the people’s offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first. 16 And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it according to the manner. 17 And he brought the meat offering, and took an handful thereof, and burnt it upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning. 18 He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron’s sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about, 19 And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards , and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver: 20 And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar: 21 And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded. 22 And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people. 24 And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
