Cómo orar en la iglesia
1 En primer lugar, recomiendo orar por todo el mundo, dando gracias a Dios por todos y pidiéndole que les muestre su bondad y los ayude. 2 Recomiendo que se ore por los gobernantes y por todas las autoridades, para que podamos vivir en paz y tranquilos, obedeciendo a Dios y llevándonos bien con los demás. 3 Esta clase de oración es buena y le agrada a Dios, nuestro Salvador; 4 pues él quiere que todos se salven y sepan que:
5 Solo hay un Dios,
y solo hay uno que puede
ponernos en paz con Dios:
Jesucristo, el hombre.
6 Jesús dio su propia vida
para salvar a todo el mundo.
En el momento oportuno,
Dios nos demostró
que quiere salvar a todos.
7 Dios me envió a dar esta buena noticia a los que no son judíos. Debo enseñarles la verdad y lo que significa confiar en Dios. ¡Les aseguro que no estoy mintiendo, sino que digo la verdad!
8 Deseo que en todas partes los varones dejen de discutir y de enojarse, y que en vez de eso sean buenos cristianos y oren.
9 También deseo que las mujeres se vistan con sencillez, decencia y modestia. Que no usen peinados exagerados, ni joyas de oro o adornos de perlas ni ropa muy cara. 10 Más bien, que se preocupen por hacer lo bueno, como se espera de las mujeres que aman y respetan a Dios.
11 Quiero que las mujeres aprendan en silencio lo que se les enseñe, y que sean obedientes. 12 Y no permito que las mujeres enseñen en las reuniones de la iglesia, ni que les den órdenes a los hombres. 13 Porque Dios creó primero a Adán, y después a Eva. 14 Además, Adán no fue el engañado por Satanás, sino Eva. Y cuando Eva fue engañada, pecó. 15 Sin embargo, las mujeres se salvarán si tienen hijos, si confían en Jesucristo, y si aman a los demás y viven con modestia y santidad.
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
