Cómo participar en las reuniones de la iglesia
1 Así que sigan mi ejemplo, como yo sigo el ejemplo de Cristo.
2 Los felicito, porque ustedes siempre se acuerdan de mí y obedecen mis enseñanzas. 3 Ahora quiero que sepan esto: Cristo es el origen del varón, el varón es el origen de la mujer y Dios es el origen de Cristo.
4 Si el hombre ora a Dios, o habla en su nombre, con la cabeza cubierta, le falta el respeto a Cristo. 5 Y si la mujer ora a Dios, o habla en su nombre, sin cubrirse la cabeza, le falta el respeto al hombre. Es lo mismo que si se afeitara la cabeza. 6 Si la mujer no quiere cubrirse la cabeza, entonces que se la afeite. Pero si le da vergüenza afeitársela, entonces que se la cubra.
7 El hombre no debe cubrirse la cabeza, pues refleja la grandeza de Dios. La mujer, por su parte, refleja la grandeza del hombre. 8 Porque Dios no sacó de la mujer al hombre, sino que del hombre sacó a la mujer. 9 Y no creó Dios al hombre por causa de la mujer, sino a la mujer por causa del hombre. 10 Por eso, la mujer debe ejercer control sobre su cabeza, para respeto a los ángeles.
11 Sin embargo, para nosotros los cristianos, ni la mujer existe sin el hombre, ni el hombre existe sin la mujer. 12 Es verdad que a la primera mujer Dios la sacó del primer hombre, pero también es verdad que ahora todos los hombres nacen de una mujer. Pero tanto el hombre como la mujer, y todo lo que existe, han sido creados por Dios.
13 Piensen ustedes mismos si está bien que la mujer ore a Dios con la cabeza descubierta. 14 Según nuestras costumbres, es una vergüenza que el hombre se deje crecer el cabello, 15 pero no lo es que la mujer se lo deje crecer. Y es que Dios le dio el cabello largo para que se cubra la cabeza. 16 En todo caso, si alguien no está de acuerdo con esto y quiere discutirlo, le digo que ni nosotros ni las iglesias de Dios conocemos otra forma de actuar.
La Cena del Señor
(Mt 26.26-29Mc 14.22-25Lc 22.14-20)17 Hay algo de lo que no puedo felicitarlos, y son las reuniones que ustedes tienen. En vez de serles de ayuda, los perjudican. 18 Para empezar, me han dicho que, cuando ustedes se reúnen como iglesia, no se llevan bien, sino que se dividen en grupos y se pelean entre sí. Yo creo que en esto hay algo de verdad. 19 En realidad, todo esto tiene que pasar para que se vea quiénes son los verdaderos seguidores de Cristo. 20-21 Según entiendo, cuando ustedes se reúnen, cada uno se apura a comer su propia comida y no espera a los demás. Así resulta que algunos se quedan con hambre, mientras que otros se emborrachan. ¡Y eso ya no es participar en la Cena del Señor! 22 Más bien, eso es una falta de respeto a la iglesia de Dios, y es poner en vergüenza a los pobres. Si lo que quieren es comer y emborracharse, ¡mejor quédense en sus casas! ¿O esperan acaso que los felicite? ¡Pues no hay razón para felicitarlos!
23 Lo que el Señor Jesucristo me enseñó, es lo mismo que yo les he enseñado a ustedes: La noche en que el Señor Jesús fue traicionado, tomó en sus manos pan, 24 dio gracias a Dios, lo partió en pedazos y dijo: «Esto es mi cuerpo, que es entregado en favor de ustedes. Cuando coman de este pan, acuérdense de mí.» 25 Después de cenar, Jesús tomó en sus manos la copa y dijo: «Esta copa de vino es mi sangre. Con ella, Dios hace un nuevo compromiso con ustedes. Cada vez que beban de esta copa, acuérdense de mí.» 26 Así que, cada vez que ustedes comen de ese pan, o beben de esa copa, anuncian la muerte del Señor Jesús hasta el día en que él vuelva.
Cómo participar en la Cena del Señor
27 Por eso, si una persona come del pan o bebe de la copa del Señor Jesucristo sin darle la debida importancia, peca en contra del cuerpo y de la sangre de Jesucristo. 28 Por lo tanto, antes de comer del pan y beber de la copa, cada uno debe preguntarse si está actuando bien o mal. 29 Porque Dios va a castigar al que coma del pan y beba de la copa sin darse cuenta de que se trata del cuerpo de Cristo. 30 Por eso algunos de ustedes están débiles o enfermos, y otros ya han muerto.
31-32 El Señor Jesucristo se fija en nuestra conducta. Él nos corrige para que aprendamos, y para que así no tengamos que ser castigados junto con la gente de este mundo que no cree en él. Si pensamos bien lo que hacemos, no seremos castigados.
33 Por eso, hermanos míos, cuando se junten para comer, esperen a que todos estén reunidos. 34 Si alguno tiene hambre, es mejor que coma en su casa. Así Dios no tendrá que castigarlos por su comportamiento en las reuniones.
En cuanto a las otras preguntas que me hicieron, ya les daré instrucciones cuando vaya a visitarlos.

2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. 10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. 12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. 13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? 14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. 16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. 19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. 20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper. 21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. 22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it , and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it , in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. 34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
